NPR Blog: Guide to the Middle East
As you know, I am a big fan of NPR. While I listen to NPR daily, I also read their online blog Mixed Signals. Each week a different NPR correspondent is the blog host. This makes the blog dynamic with varied content and perspectives of each writer. You also get to know a different side of the NPR voices you hear on the airwaves. I found a post this week that made me chuckle a bit - as much as you can with the tension in the Middle East. The post does not have a specific URL on NPR.org, so check it out below. Make sure you click on the Slate link.

Hilarious! Laughing in the face of crisis is sometimes the best thing we can do to help us cope for a brief moment. I want Will to see what the interns at Slate created. I think it will inspire him, especially since he’s been so dilligently working on his ‘top secret’ side project.

Man, you keep tempting us with blog posts and allusions to Will’s project. We will have to get it out of you two! Tell Will to come and check out my blog

“By the time the Israelis finish in Lebanon, it will be a pile of debris with perhaps nearly a thousand innocent civilians dead and over a million homeless and displaced. All other major US goals in the region, democracy promotion, support for moderates, winning hearts and minds, undermining support for radicalism will also be buried under the debris.” (M.
